Kosher Product Competition

 

Who can enter?
We welcome applications from manufacturers, distributors, and food industry players whose products hold valid kosher or halal certification.
The competition is open to both domestic and international participants.

I. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All companies involved in the production, manufacturing, or distribution of FMCG products (both food and non-food) are eligible to apply for the "Contest of Culturally and Religiously Compliant Products 2025 - Kosher/Halal Product Competition" award, provided their products are available on the Hungarian and/or international market.

Requirement:
Each submitted product must hold a valid kosher or halal certification, which credibly verifies its compliance with the respective religious dietary laws.
This certification must also be clearly indicated on the product packaging

Validity of Entry
An entry is considered valid only if the following conditions are met:

  • There are no ongoing regulatory procedures against the product;
  • The product does not violate any public health, food safety, consumer protection, or environmental regulations;
  • The product complies with basic food industry quality standards.
     

Important:
Each product must be submitted as a separate, individual entry this year.

II. APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Form

  • Please provide a short description of the product ingredients (maximum 1,500 characters).

  • Short product description (maximum 1,000 characters): Describe the main characteristics, unique values, and ingredients of the product. You may also include outstanding sales results. The aim is to highlight what makes your product stand out compared to similar products on the market.

  • Please provide a brief description of the product (maximum 250 characters): This text may be used in our competition-related online and print publications (e.g. awards ceremony materials, Store Insider print supplement). Therefore, instead of generic marketing content, we recommend submitting a short, punchy, category-specific text that conveys relevant and meaningful information for the professional audience.
    (Note: In case the character limits are exceeded, we reserve the right to shorten the texts.)

After submitting the application, the necessary documents can be uploaded via the confirmation email.
The application is considered valid only if the application fee is paid, the application form is fully completed, the required documents are uploaded, and the terms and conditions of entry are accepted.

Required Documents
Participants must upload the following:

  • Product specification sheet (datasheet)
  • At least 2 photos of the product (clearly indicate which may be used for public appearances)
  • A valid kosher or halal certificate

Submission Requirements aNd File Specifications

Applications must be supplemented with the materials listed below (type is optional) and uploaded to the designated application cloud storage:

  • Test results, additional documentation
  • Video materials (films and case studies): MP4 format, HD (1280x720) or Full HD (1920x1080) resolution only. Case study videos must not exceed 3 minutes in length.
  • Case studies: PDF format
  • Image materials: JPG, PNG, or PDF format, minimum resolution 300 dpi
  • Presentations: PPT, Keynote, or PDF format. Maximum length: 10 slides
  • Websites / intranet / social media pages: Please provide the exact URL in the application. For restricted-access pages, ensure jury access (e.g. via password).
  • Mobile applications: Please include access information in the application. If necessary, provide a promo code to allow the jury full access to all content. For apps that are no longer active, please submit a test version.
  • Other materials: e.g. statistics or any supporting documents that prove the authenticity and effectiveness of the project.
  • Printed materials: These can be uploaded in digital form to the designated cloud folder, or one printed copy can be submitted by post to the publisher at:

By submitting an entry, the applicant declares that:

  • The product complies with all applicable food industry quality standards;
  • The manufacturer guarantees the authenticity of the product's characteristics;
  • No regulatory action is currently in progress against the product;
  • The product does not violate public health, food safety, consumer protection, or environmental regulations.

III. SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION FORM AND UPLOADING ATTACHMENTS

The application must be submitted by completing the application form and accepting the terms and conditions of entry.
After submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the contact email address provided, containing access to the cloud folder where the required materials should be uploaded (in PPT, PDF, MP3, MP4 formats – see above: Submission Requirements).

  • Attachments can be uploaded to the root directory of the cloud folder using the drag and drop method.
  • Please do not create subfolders and do not upload compressed files (e.g., ZIP, RAR).
  • Participants cannot delete files from the cloud. If you need to modify any uploaded materials, please contact the organizer directly.

Deadline for uploading attachments: September 24, 2025.

If the attachments are not uploaded by the deadline, the jury will evaluate the written application only, and the submitted physical product (if applicable) during the in-person jury session.

Product Submission

Details regarding product submission will be provided via email after the entry period closes.

  • Deadline for receipt of products (minimum 3 units): Details regarding product submission will be provided via email after the entry period closes.
  • For perishable products: Details regarding product submission will be provided via email after the entry period closes.
  • Shipping Address: Details regarding product submission will be provided via email after the entry period closes.
  • Judging Location: Details regarding product submission will be provided via email after the entry period closes.

Jury Composition:
Food industry professionals and independent consumers.

Evaluation Criteria:
Product quality, flavor profile, packaging, and market value.

IV.  ENTRY FEES

Entry fees can be found under the GENERAL INFORMATION menu. The system does not apply any discounts during the submission process – the final invoice issued after registration will reflect the actual amount payable, including any applicable discounts.

Communication Materials

The submitted text may be used in the competition’s online and print materials (e.g., award ceremony, Store Insider print supplement). Therefore, we recommend submitting a concise and relevant description that is specific to the product and professionally meaningful, rather than a general marketing text.

Declaration: I accept the terms and conditions of the submission and, in connection with my entry, I make the following declarations:

I, the undersigned, declare that the work I have created and submitted does not infringe on the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any individual or company. I further declare that I have obtained all necessary permissions from the rights holders of any third-party work used in the creation of the submission.

I, the undersigned, further declare and warrant that the submitted work does not infringe on any personal rights (e.g., right to a good reputation, image rights, rights related to sound recordings) of any third party or organization, nor does it violate any trademark, patent, trade secret, or business confidentiality of any individual or entity. I affirm that no one else holds any rights that would restrict or prevent the submission or publication of this work. I also declare and warrant that the submission complies with the relevant provisions of Act XLVIII of 2008 on the Basic Requirements and Certain Restrictions of Commercial Advertising Activities, Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection, Act XLVII of 2008 on the Prohibition of Unfair Commercial Practices Against Consumers, Act LVII of 1996 on the Prohibition of Unfair and Restrictive Market Practices, and all other applicable laws.

I consent to Professional Publishing Hungary Ltd. publishing the documentation and description of the submitted work, and where appropriate, the work itself, in print or digital media for public informational purposes.

I acknowledge that the materials I submit will remain in the archives of PPH after the competition. As the author, I retain all rights to the submitted work.

By submitting the application (contract), the Client consents to the processing of personal data of its representatives and contact persons for the purpose of fulfilling the contract and maintaining business communication. The Client also agrees to receive newsletters from the Contractor. The Client declares that they have read and expressly accept the Contractor’s data privacy policy.
